How To Replace The Battery?
For those who want to install the battery on their own, read the guidelines on the back of your watch. Open the back panel with care. Take a good look at the inside. You will notice a small, round thing in metallic color. This is the battery. Remove it gently. Now, fix the new one in exactly the same position as the previous. Attach the back panel. Your watch has come back to life!
What To Do If The Watch Gets Wet?
If your digital watch gets wet, open it up and pull out the battery. Let it air dry. Use a delicate Q-tip to reach areas where there are sensitive parts installed. Be very gentle or else you may damage some part. Do not use the watch for a while. Let the Q-tip absorb as much moisture as it can. If you dry the watch at once, you can save it from damage. It will be back to work as soon as it dries up.
How To Repair A Cracked Case?
A watch repair person repairs a chipped off or cracked case by using a colored seal and then they smoothen it down. In the same manner, they can replace a cracked plastic or glass display screen.
Talking of straps, the watchmakers have some really gorgeous straps to replace. You need not discard your watch just because its strap has snapped off or faded, or you simply got bored of it! You can replace the strap yourself. There are tiny screws at both the places where the strap is fixed. Remove them and pull out the bar that supports the strap. Replace the new strap. You can even match straps with your clothing if you want to change your band that often!
At times, your watch may suffer from some loose wiring. The watch repair person knows best how to fix it. Depending upon how old the watch is, it might be cheaper and easier to just go ahead and buy a new watch.
