What do you do when your Citizen watch stops working? Do you dump it in the drawer or take it to a qualified citizen watch repair shop? For many of us, our Citizen watch is a priced possession whether owing to sentimental reasons or the heavy price tag attached to it. In either case, make sure the watch is in trained hands while it is being repaired.
If you have bought a Citizen watch from one of the cheap shops down the street and have no sentimental story attached to it, then it’s not a smart thing to go for a pricey watch repair. Why don’t you buy a new one?

The cost of Citizen watch repair depends on how old your watch is, whether its parts are available, and what the model of the watch is. Accordingly, you may have to shell out either a few or hundreds of dollars. Before giving your watch to the watch repair shop, determine whether your watch CAN be repaired or not. This means that after repair it should look as good as new and work as efficiently as ever.
If your watch body is too damaged to be repaired, don’t waste your dollars on watch repair, even if the repair person says he or she can do it. They may repair it, but the patched up body won’t look appealing, right?
Old Is Gold
It’s easier to repair older Citizen watches than the modern hi-tech ones. This is because old watches have mechanical movements for time. Although the tiny gears look complex and tough to repair, the entire watch repair process may cost you only a few dollars. In case of modern watches, the quartz movements are best to be left alone. It is cheaper to buy a new watch than to repair the latest model!
Put Your Citizen Watch In Safe Hands!
Don’t give your Citizen watch for repair to just any watch repair shop on the street. Look for reputable ones. The watch maker should be familiar with the make of your watch. Besides this, there are certain issues to consider such as the guarantee of working after watch repair, the time taken for repair, whether the watch requires complete dissembling, whether the watch repair person will clean the watch, and the total cost.
You should also check and see if your Citizen watch is still in its warranty period and if any repairs might be covered by the warranty.
Don’t approach any watch repair shop simply because it is near to your home. It may not be the best one. It’s worth driving down some distance for repairing your watch. After all, you want to go there only once, not every other day!
